HARPER-NELSON, JOHN
John Harper-Nelson began his career with the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) shortly after his arrival in Perth in 1962 and has since worked as an ABC announcer on both radio and television. He retired in 1981 but has continued his work as a Kalamunda Shire Councillor, freelance scriptwriter and author of many books, including A need for glory, the story of pioneer aviator John Cowe McIntosh.

Seconded, Somaliland Scouts 1956-59, King’s African Rifles 1959-62. Retired Major. 1962 migrated to WA. Joined the ABC 1962-82 Director of Access Press. State War Memorial Sub-Warden. Highgate Golden Oldie.
