Perth’s first television News Director Darcy Farrell explains the origins of the TV News Room in Perth, following it through the various News presenters and covers a number of  important events of the era.
The Air Crash that claimed the life of TVW cameraman Keith Digby Milner, the 1962 Commonwealth and Empire Games, the 1963 Crime Wave, the 1963 JFK assassination, the 1967 Endurance walk to Geraldton, the 1969 Man on the Moon and finally we meet a number of veteran News presenters.
Darcy Farrell served as the founding News Editor at Western Australia’s first television station, TVW Channel 7, from 1959.
Sadly, Darcy passed away on the 6th September, 2022.
